BALANCED DIET.

  • BALANCED DIET.

A balanced diet is simply the combination of the correct types and amounts of the food nutrients. It is important for mothers to make sure that the child’s meal has all the six food groups (protein, carbohydrate, vitamins and minerals, fats and oils, water) needed for a healthy growth.
It should be noted that all the food nutrients play vital roles in the body, as it was seen in the earlier posts and must be included in the child’s meal. For children, little of carbohydrates and more of proteins and the other nutrients is advised because they do not engage in any form of manual job but above all, there should be the right amount of the nutrient in the child’s meal to promote growth and to protect the child from various deficiencies which will be treated in the next post.
Fresh fish is a good source of protein which could make a diet complete.
Fruits play a vital role in the child's body and must be included in their daily meal to balance their diet.
